How have other DMs dealt with the influx of foreigners into Nyambe? A fairly high-level combatant might think that -4 on Fort saves is a small price to pay for wearing lots of armour, for example. There's also the fact that visiting spellcasters have magical armour magic.

How are you dealing with multiclassing? Are you allowing foreigners to take levels in Nyambe classes (prestige or otherwise)? How about vice versa? I'm pondering requiring a feat or possibly a very long training period.

Just curious how other people have handled this.

Cheers.

I think that to account for the weather -4 to Fort saves is good, but I think I would personally think of the heat as added weight. I would re-tailor the encumbrance rules for those in armor or make armors "feel" like they are heavier (ie. increase the weight of amors).

Multiclassing foreigners with Nyambe classes should be possible, but the character should probably be accepted into a Nyambe society first. Prestige classes generally involve being accepted into an elite society and this should be very difficult for an foreigner. Foreigner who want to do this should probably have to preform large quests to prove loyalty.

Those would be my opinions. Let me know what you think and if you have any suggestionson my problem: "N'anga spellcasters".

One of the rulings you can have, at least as far as magic goes, is that the spells need an extra 'oomph' to overcome something in the Nyambe air and still require the extra components.
