In the main core book of Feng Shui we found a good list of Guns but when we look for sword type we didn't find them. Do you know which book of Feng Shui may have them.

Swords are all considered pretty much of a muchness. They do Str+4 damage, basically, whether they are katana, broadsword or greatsword.

The only difference is in description, really.

Do you know what are the concealability be for all of them; would they be the same or different. I was also wondering manriki-gusari or nunchakus any guess on which damage range they would fall in and there concealability and would they have any other benefits like the real one could.

Nunchakus I think are listed in the chart as Str+1. Concealability doesnt need quite so much detail as guns, because anything capable of Str+3 damage or above is probably not concealable except in very special circumstances. I don't remember ever having to use the concealability rules.

As far as any additional benefits go, they should be limited to the stunts you perform. I think any attempt to formalise certain actions with special weapons goes against the spirit of FS.

The lack of info on concealing melee weapons is a hole in the rules, actually.

I think you have to examine them on a case-by-case basis. A knife is probably a 1. A sword... maybe a 5 or 6? Consider the values given to assault rifles. If you can actually hide an assault rifle or a shotgun under a trenchcoat, you should be able to hide a sword.

But a spear - doing +4 damage like a sword - probably would be impossible to hide or have a really high value like an 8.

Someone invariably chortles when I post this, but if you want to make your manriki gusari, tonfa, or nunchaku damage more... realistic (yes, I said it!), use your DEX score for base damage instead of STR. These weapons rely on centrifugal force and accuracy, not brute strength, to cause their damage.

This gives some of those characters who are fast and athletic (rather than bulked up) a reason to choose some of these interesting weapons to use, instead of just always whacking someone with a stick or sword.

As far as extra benefits, I allow a called shot with a manriki gusari (or other various martial weapons) to disarm opponents as normal, but on an outcome of 8 or more, instead of damaging the weapon the PC can elect to take it to use himself. But that's just me.

Isn't chortle a cool word?

Yes! Chortle is a cool word! It was coined by Lewis Carroll in the poem Jabberwocky!

I'll admit this may be too much detail for FS, but I don't think its any more excessive than that given to guns.

As far as swords go, I just added a few based on length; the standard Str+4 is for something of approximately a metre - Chinese darn dao (broadsword) or jian (straight sword), katana, gum (Korean), scimitar, a Western sabre, broadsword or longsword - you get the picture.

For big swords (basically anything long and two handed - noidachi, zweihander, claymore) it's Str+5.

For a sword under a metre, it's Str+3. Thats a shortsword or gladius, wakizashi and a Western rapier (cos its got a light blade).

A dagger or large knife is Str+2, a small knife Str+1.

I also tweaked nunchaku to Str+2 (or Dex+2). And standard bows do Str+2 damage rather than a fixed amount.

Some additional weapons:
Baton (as in a shorter club - escrima sticks or billy club) Str+2
Hachet Str+4 (cos they're nasty!) - thrown does 7 damage
Axe Str+5 (battle-axe, fire axe etc)
Polearm Str+5 (pike, halberd etc).

And on Concealment, something similar to Guns:

Rating 1: <12cm and <680g eg throwing star, coiled garotte wire
Rating 2: <15cm and <1.1kg eg knife
Rating 3: <38cm and <3kg eg dagger, nunchaku, telescopic baton
Rating 4: <75cm and <5kg eg baton, shortword, hachet
Rating 5: >76cm or >5kg eg staff, spear, sword, axe

Very nice! I personally wouldn't rate weapons above a +4, probably, so as not to encourage people to start lugging around two-handed swords and polearms all the time. Although an extra point isn't too big a deal.
