Guys,

This is probably common knowledge so I apologise for coming to the party late. I was leafing through the Mythic Seas book this morning, as you do, and found a couple of gags in the index. As a hint, look up "lots" (there is at least another one but I'll let you find it yourself).

Are there any other gags littered through the Ars books?

Mark

I'll look it up, but I suspect that it's to do with the nature of Mythic Seas, which has a reputation as the least impressive Ars book ever-- the author decided to be known as Alan Smithee for cripes' sake.

There is an in-joke within 'Land of Fire and Ice'.

It's in one of the character descriptions.

I did notice the smithee reference too, But for some reason I assumed it was to do with some sort of conflict of interest (author/editor/proof reader being one and the same or somesuch).

Anyway, I'm not sure the book is that woeful. Okay it doesn't give me all I was looking for (how long a trading voyage from X to Y will take etc) but it does provide a nice bit of mundane and hermetic flavour.

Mythic Seas isn't a bad book, it's just a really really mediocre book. Nothing in it is woeful, such as "Dirty Secrets of the Black Hand", or "Authentic Thaumaturgy". However, it is hardly Mythic, and doesn't have all that much of use, except for a few spells. Some of the artwork is pretty though. I'd be much more inclined to use Savage Seas for Exalted.

Savage Seas? I'll have a look out for that then. Thanks for the tip.
