The path of the leaping storm is the obvious path to follow for wire fu: you can jump, fly at your opponent sword first, run up walls before jumping at him... the only minor quibble might be that it is aimed mostly at sword fighting, but that can be altered to other weapons as a sub-style.

The path of the lauging monkey (in blood of the valiant) is probably OK also.

Oh yeah, whenever we're watching movies and see some one do one of those jumps someone always yells out "prodigious leap!"

Never fails!

I now MAKE my PC's shout out 'Prodigious Leap!' or whatever the name as they activate a fu power, and strike a pose when appropriate.

I've lost track of the number of old shaw brothers or golden harvest chop-socky films i've watched where two combatants are almost trading names as they slug it out...

"Fist of steel!"
"Tiger claw!"
"Double-monkey paw!"
"Flying crotch razor!"
"Excellent flowering dragon hand style!"

You get the idea.

By the way, for wire-fu madness my personal recommendations would be Saviour of the soul (tho it's not great, it does have great ideas and fights)and moon warriors (directed by Sammo Hung).

I finally saw "Hero" this past week (I'm in Japan now) and at one point a character performs what was really a textbook example of the Flying Sword schtick. :)

For text-book flying sword craziness (and i don't know why i didn't mention it before) search out 'Zu warriors from the Magic mountain' with Yuen Baio.

It is a little dated for the CGI age, but it's madder than a tree full of monkeys and twice as entertaining. Any film with the character 'Wondergirl with the green and purple swords of power' (subtitled version) is worth it's weight in gold.

I'm tracking down 'Hero' this weekend.
