Ars Magica Confidence is confusing

Page 19 and 20 go over the Confidence rules, and they don't make sense to me. What is the difference between Score and Points? Important PCs and NPCs have a score of 1 and 3 points, barring Virtues. It also says that there is no limit to how many Confidence points you can have. Confidence once spent is gone forever, and you gain it back at the ned of game sessions.

My question is this: Why do you need a Score? If there's no limit, then what is the Score for? What does it give you? If you take the Self-Confident virtue you have a Score of 2 and 5 Confidence Points. You can only raise your Score by significant game and story events, but what does it get you? If you can have any number of points anyway due to awards at the end of each session, what is the Score for? Is there ever a time the Score itself is rolled?

I like the way it is used now, a +3 bonus per point spent, and it can be spent after the roll, I just don't understand the difference between the Score and the Points. The Score doesn't seem to get used at all, while the Points are used often most likely.

Anyone have any ideas or perhaps a page reference?

OK, I'm a dummy. I found the one difference, you can't spend more Points in a round than your Score. That does make a difference and a relevant benefit for having a higher Score.
