People have recommended the free rule book for you. You really should
download and read it, then you could answer your own questions. You
might go and buy the Fifth Edition as well, in my opinion it might be
easier to learn for a new player.

In 5th edition there are no point costs for the virtues or flaws, only
minor and major costs, which are roughly equivalent with +1 and +3
virtues. By reading the rulebook, you can compare your idea with the
virtues there. Same goes for your spell ideas, in both books (4th and
5th ed) there are good guidelines for different spells.

There is also a good section of background, history and medieval life
in both books - your library has even more books on the subject.

Actually, it sounds to me like you're trying to make Matter Eater Lad from the Legion of Superheroes....either that or trying to come up with something that would be appropriate only for the fae (or perhaps someone with faerie blood).

I'd probably disallow this virtue as you have it. What you're trying to give someone is a virtue that they will not become sick or poisoned from something they eat. If your ST would allow it, you could simulate it with Greater or Lesser Supernatural Immunity, but there really isn't a need to make it a new virtue.

I agree with the others that you should look at the free download of 4th edition 1st, then buy 5th edition if you like what you see there.

Heh, just take it as a supernatural immunity to Bad Food then....you could eat any cut-rate slop with mold growing on it without getting sick. That would cut costs on food.

If you're thinking of this virtue for a magus though, most don't worry about cutting on the cost of food. Food is something that grogs prepare for you. :-)

This sounds like a Faerie or Infernal power, that should cost a bit of Might to employ, possibly a power for a creature of the magic realm also.

Not a very appropriate virtue for a Magus probably, though a magus with a high Corpus is likely to be able to eat many different things unharmed. It could also be a spell, though it had best be a long enough duration for the food to pass through his system. Using Muto Terram with an Animal requisite to change a sword into meat, will turn back into a sword when the spell ends, so it's up to you whether or not you'd trust a Sun duration.
