What exactly is a response card? Does it say response on it or what? We just played our first game last night and I'm not too clear on what a response card is.

OOPS i guess i should specify that this is in the dungeoneer card game!

It's well, a card that you play in response to something else.

I looked through my copy of Tomb of the Lich Lord and the only response I could find was "Repel". You play that card in *response* to someone else playing a monster against you, and it causes that monster to be immediately put in the discard pile without having to fight it.

I don't remember if you can play responses to other things than monsters (and traps) but I think you'd wait till your opponent had finished laying down all monsters/traps and spent the peril for them, and then lay down your response which would have its effect.

Hmm ok maybe i'm saying that wrong. What constitutes a response card? Do they say response on it? How do you know what a response card is? Is it any boon card? Are they just "anytime cards"? I'm just not getting exactly what you can play as a response. The "Dragons" game has no cards labeled "response" so i'm just not sure what they are.

Thanks.

I don't have the Dragons set yet, but Tomb of the Lich Lord has a card called Repel which says "response" where most adventure cards say Dungeonlord or Hero phase.

I don't think there are any response cards in Dragons. During playtest we had a Dragon Repel card for quite some time, but we dropped it in favor of some other cards.
