If your not sure where it's from are you even sure it's a creature? Until you can build a simple spell I won't help you make animal crackers AbRay. Look in the book. Read. Use some... common sense, and build it yourself.

Surely you know the Limerick about "Nandi the Bear from Nantucket , whose (insert rude word here) was so long he could suck it" :-)

Indeed, just as Mokele Mbembe is - and Bigfoot, the Chupacabras and the Death Worm of the Gobi Desert. Given the mythic nature of Europe it could be appropriate to have them, but given the mythical nature of the animals it's hard to come up with a consensus on stats.

Why would a Hermetic Mage be in Darkest Africa?

Or he wanted to see what was South of the Sun(tm).

We've adventured into Egypt ... once. We'll be back there for our next adventure, most assuredly. But the Dark Continent? Probably never. Then again, we've been to Mythic Japan, too...

I really want to run an adventure in Mythic Japan. I have a copy of an old (but very good) RPG called Bushido...have to figure a way to get my players there though.

(Topic is veering off course, Cap'n! :) )

Hwhnn:

We had established early on in our saga that there was a connection between one point in Mythic Europe and another in Japan, which amounted to an ancient set of standing stones, in a cave, which eventually wound up in a regio. It had recently been discovered by hermetics, who established a small foothold there, which grew to 2 covenants. Unfortunately, the experiment didn't last long because of tensions between the 2, and the local wizards themselves. The grand experiment lasted for 50 years, and ended with a powerful magical creature sealing the passage between the 2. There had been some trade, but the size of the passage limited it to what could be carried on one's back.

The ways to get there could be endless, from 2 regios that link at thier highest levels, to something as inane as someone quad-botching a ReCo teleport spell...My suggestion is look at all the plot devices you can, and find one that works for you.

You could also get a game called "Sengoku" , even though its setting is 16th Century , it would be a big help for Mythic Japan imo.
