I'd like to know how you guys handle this litle problem.

Let us take a fountain that is enchanted with a MuAq(CrCo) (Base enough to give a recovery bonus,+1 Touch,+3 Moon,Ind)

MODIFIED EFFECTS: +3 trigger effect moon Glow

The fountain then enchants the water which becomes a medium that when drinked affects the drinker with the intended effect.

MuAq(CrCo) : Give the ability to water to help heal induries.

-------------------------------------------------------------------

Does this work for you?

We're taliking about a hermetic enchantment here right?

I think that enchanting a medium to cary a spell is an etremely sticky problem.

For the specific example of the fountain, I'd make the trigger action "when moonlight is shineing on the fountain and someone drinks the fountain's water". Then use voice or a non-standard range for "as far as the sound of the gurgleing fountain carries" depending upon whether you believe that the splashing of a fountain is a voice or not, I'd say not. (With this not being a spontaineous spell you can use a non-standard range.)

For actually enchanting a medium to carry the spell, I'd probably avoid it.

But if I had to anyway - I'd go to non-standard target. A target like "the person who drinks this liquid". I think I'd make this target equal to group in difficulty. (The difficulty for a non standard R/D/T should be higher than the equivelent standard, this target is clearly more involved than individual so I'd set it equal to part then I'd raise it to group for being non-standard). I'd also require that the medium be consumed within a duraion of time (like Sun or diameter).

I agree! My Example was to show how it could look nice but it gets ugly when you have a MuHe(CrIg) (Base 25,+1 Touch,+2 Sun, Ind, +2 for the two Rq.,+2 for spell within of level greather than 20 lvl)

MuHe 60(CrIg) Ritual: Ritual spell that give the ability to a stick to throw fireballs.

Is the Fountain an Enchanted Device?
Can you instill effects that turn something into a Potion , using an Enchanted Device?

If the Fountain is only giving a Recovery Bonus , then seems fair.

If im reading this correctly , the Fountain is enchanted for Duration Moon to give a Recovery Bonus to anyone who drinks the water.
Or do you mean that the Recovery Bonus gained by drinking the water lasts for Duration Moon? (which makes more sense to me anyway).

In the Fountain example yes.

The way I designed it the water would have the healing properties untill the next full moon.

I would see people traveling to the fountain every month to get the 'holy' waters...

In Eric's version which is more restrictive, only those that drank the water directly from the fountain are affected.
