Dice Miner FAQ

Base Game

Q: Can the dice be rerolled individually with the Alchemist's unique ability?
A: Yes, the Alchemist has three individual Magic Symbols, so you can reroll three times. After each reroll, you can decide to reroll the same die again, or try with another one. You do not have to use all three rerolls.

Q: Can I cache or store other Treasure chest results?
A: Yes

Q: Can I reroll other Magic dice?
A: You are allowed to reroll other unspent Magic dice. Once a Magic die has been "spent" to reroll other dice, it can no longer be rerolled during that round.

Q: What happens if there's a tie for most treasure?
A: No one scores double for this round.

Q: Can I score more than one tunnel dice sequence?
A: As long as each sequence starts with 1, they will score.

Q: Who starts the next round?
A: The player with the lowest score starts the next round.

Expansions

Q: What’s the point of getting multiple Quest dice with the same symbol?
A: There’s generally no reason to do this.

Q: What do I do with Quest dice after completing the second part of the quest?
A: Just keep them in your trove. They likely won’t have much more of an effect, but you might find clever ways to use them in conjunction with Artifacts.

Q: What does Magic-resistant mean?
A: Magic-resistant just means it can't be rerolled using Magic. You do reroll Magic-resistant dice at the end of the turn (such as Hazard dice in the base game). You don't reroll Quest dice at the end of the turn, but that’s because it’s a special effect of Quest dice, not because they’re Magic-resistant.

Q: What does “matching” mean on the “Mirror Mirror” quest?
A: Dice are matching if the symbols and quantity of symbols are the same. The color of the dice does not matter.

Q: How exactly does Antique Scale work?
A: When you reveal the card, you may give or receive any number of dice with any other players on a quest with you, as many times as you’d like. The dice stay on the same face. Other players may not trade between themselves. Once you stop trading, you may not trade again.

Q: How exactly does Canary Idol work?
A: When scoring, you may reveal this card to pick one dice type (Tunnel, Treasure, or Hazard), and write 10 in your space on the scoresheet for that type instead of what you’d score otherwise. For instance, if you had 2 cave-ins, you could score 10 points instead of -2 points.
